Dúnadh an Clár Forbartha Pobal an 31 Nollaig 2009 agus tháinig an Clár um Fhorbairt Áitiúil agus Pobail ina áit
Chuir an Clár Forbartha Pobail cúnamh airgid ar fáil do Thionscadail Forbartha Pobail (CDPanna) le haghaidh foireann agus trealamh a chur ar fáil d’ionaid acmhainní áitiúla a sholáthar pointe comhtheagmhála do ghníomhaíochtaí forbartha pobail agus do thionscadail agus tionscnaimh forbartha pobail speisialaithe eile lena mbaineann tábhacht straitéiseach.
Bhí an Clár dírithe ar aghaidh a thabhairt ar na réimsí bochtaineachta agus na réimsí míbhuntáiste go léir. De ghnáth dhírigh tionscadail ar riachtanais
na mban agus na leanaí, ar dhaoine faoi mhíchumas, ar dhaoine gan dídean, ar theaghlaigh le tuismitheoirí aonair, daoine scothaosta, daoine óga i mbaol, an Lucht Siúil agus grúpaí eile faoi mhíbhuntáiste.
Community Development Programme
The Community Development Programme closed on 31st December 2009 and was replaced by the Local & Community Development Programme.
The Community Development Programme provided financial assistance to Community Development Projects (CDPs) for the staffing and equipping local resource centres providing a focal point for community development activities and to other specialised community development projects and initiatives having a strategic importance.
The Programme was aimed at addressing all areas of poverty and disadvantage. Projects typically focused on the needs of women and children, persons with disabilities, the homeless, lone parent families, the elderly, the unemployed, young people at risk, Travellers, and other disadvantaged groups.
